New House?

It looks like we might be building a new house in Lexington, SC. Several weeks ago we found a 1.2 acre wooded lot in Kelsey Glen that is everything that we were looking for. We will miss the convenience of living downtown Columbia and its hard to leave the Coleman Street house but its too small and requires more time to renovate than we have available. Here's the front elevation and floor plan of the house we're planning to build. If you like the style, you can find a lot more at www.allisonramseyarchitects.com . Another great website for house plans is www.southernclassicdesign.com .

Palm on the Beach

Here's a picture of one of the palms on the beach. Yes, this was the beach we went to. Yes, we took this photo...

View From Our Room

We got a great room again this trip. Here's a view of the beach from our patio.

Swept Away Breakfasts

Swept Away will bring your breakfast out to your patio in the morning if you request it. Jenny and I enjoyed Jamaican Jablum coffee with fruit and croissants every morning. Its a great way to start the day!

Jamaica - December 2005

Jenny and I went back to Jamaica this year to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. The weather was perfect all week and we had a long relaxing week. We went snorkeling almost every day and the food was great. We'll definitely be back. This first photo is a view of the resort (Couples Swept Away in Negril) near our room.

More pictures from Karatsu Castle

This is a view out of the castle.

Karatsu Castle in Saga Prefecture

We were able to do a little sightseeing on Saturday because we got the bulk of our business out of the way during the week. Our hosts from Toku were nice enough to spend their Saturday driving us to an old castle in the Saga Prefecture of Japan. It isn't a castle in the sense that we are accustomed to but it was used as a military stronghold for the local territory when Japan was a collection of feuding warlords. This particular castle is 600 years old but has been rebuilt since being damaged in WWII.

Festival Float in Fukuoka Japan

I'm on business in Fukuoka, Japan this week. In a few days the city will have their traditional festival where teams race around the city carrying these enormous floats that are ornately decorated and appear to be extremely heavy. This one is on display near my hotel, the Grand Hyatt.

The agony of defeat!!! This is me after blowing up on the first lap of two for my class. I technically rode more miles than a guy who wrecked and had a mechanical failure but a DNF is nothing to be proud of. There's always next month! I'm almost positive that those other guys were doping. :)  Posted by Hello

Jenny & Foster were great as moral support and didn't laugh too much when I came back licking my wounds. Posted by Hello

I entered the Race to the River mountain bike series this past weekend (5/22/05) here in Columbia. I entered sport class in what proved to be an especially lackluster return to my racing days. Here I am getting ready for the race. Posted by Hello
